WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD…
Last week I released a darker, bluesy and a very much raw and stripped down version of Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds’. I had so much fun doing that song that I decided I am going to keep this train moving and try to build some momentum. If you missed that Bob Marley cover, you can hear it HERE.
Today I’ve released a video for a new cover I recorded of Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’. I began recording this song yesterday with the intention of it being full of strings, drums, guitars, bass and vocal harmonies. Well, in the end simplicity won the race – as it usually does for me. They say less is more and that definitely rings true with my version of this song!
What I ended up with was a very stripped down version of the song comprised of only my voice, my guitar, my kick drum and a tambourine. I hardly even touched a single fader on my mixer after I laid the tracks down! A little reverb and a tiny bit of master bus compression, and boom – a finished track. I love it when it works out like that.
Anyway, here is my bluesy, folk-soul cover of What a Wonderful World…
